If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got!
Go after your goals with as much determination as you can muster you’ll be amazed at where they will take you!
Chris Cook International Swimmer and Double Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist visited us on Tuesday 2nd March to inspire our Living 4 Sport and Gifted and Talented Students.
Chris gave our students an inspirational talk about his fight for success against the odds. This is part of the British Athletes’ Commission programme which looks at ‘6 keys to success’ for the classroom – pupils were given help with leadership, time management and self belief.
Some quotes from Chris’ presentation –
What does a World Class Athlete need to succeed?
- Mental Toughness-best performances, responsibilities
- Hunger to achieve-desire, passion
- People skills-teamwork, understanding
- Sports/Life knowledge-playing by the rules
- Breaking barriers-being the first to do something
- Planning for success-prioritise, set goals, make decisions, organise, control the controllable
Vision without action is just a dream!
