Below you will find a number of organisations within the area that can help support your club in a number of different ways. You will also find a brief explanation of what these organisations do and how to find out more and get in touch.
Sport England (SE)
Sport England is a national body that acts as an ambassador for all sports in England. Sport England is responsible for setting policy and strategy that shapes sport in England. Sport England also administers the funding received by your National Governing Body and also has small grants available to clubs.
National Governing Bodies (NGBs)
Most but not all sports have a National Governing Body (NGB). Your NGB acts as a guardian of your sport and is responsible for setting the strategy and policies for your sport. Each NGB is responsible for developing its own sport and every NGB does this in a variety of ways. If you have a sports specific issue your NGB is you best point of contact. Typically, but not in all cases, your NGB will have a local officer you can get in touch with. For a list of NGBs you can go to the following link: www.sportengland.org or www.clubmark.org.uk. County Sports Partnership (CSP)
Each county has a County Sports Partnership (CSP), locally Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership (CWSP). The CWSP are responsible for developing sports on a county wide basis and liaise very closely with the organisations on this page to develop sports on a local level. School Sports Partnership (SSP)
Warrington School Sports Partnership (WaSSP) is responsible developing sport and physical activity in local schools covering all local primary, secondary and special schools and colleges. The SSP have lots of officers responsible for increasing the opportunities for children and young people to access sports and physical activity. Local Authority (LA)
Each local authority has a team responsible for developing sports in the area. In Warrington this team is the Arts and Sports Engagement Team (ASET). The team has dedicated sports development officers that can help with most generic enquiries. As well as catering for sports, ASET also works to develop the Arts in Warrington. Council for Voluntary Service (CVS)
The Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) is a national charitable organisation that supports voluntary organisations, including community sports clubs. The CVS can provide help and support to clubs on a range of topics such as funding, training opportunities and club management. Running Sports
Is an organisation funded by Sport England to support organisations that work with volunteers. The organisation also provides a lot of support and advice on its pages that are very useful to clubs.
