<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Energy, fun!</span></strong></p>
<p>Planet Sport is an event that offers a range of different sporty activities to pupils in a fun, high energy way and aims to get young people excited about sport enough to want to do it afterwards.</p>
<p> <span style="text-decoration: underline">The Astronauts (Participants)</span></p>
<p>Up to five participating schools will invite girls and boys (up to 20 from each school) who are not usually represented on school teams and who would benefit from participating in a fun, participation event with music and prizes.</p>
<p> <span style="text-decoration: underline">The Planetary Visits</span></p>
<p>At each Planet Sport there will be up to five different PLANETS with each planet hosting a different activity such as Hockey / Judo / Badminton / Volleyball / Multi-skills / Dance / Fencing</p>
<p> <span style="text-decoration: underline">Finding Space</span></p>
<p>Schools may choose to attend a Planet Sport event at the location and date best suited to them. There will be a maximum of five schools at each event with up to twenty pupils from each school. Places will be awarded on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.  Please contact your local SSCo who will reserve you a place, if available, via the Competition Manager.</p>

<p>We are excited to announce that we have are going to be working in partnership with Typhoo Tea Limited and the English Federation of Disability Sport to run a FREE Typhoo Sports For all course in November.</p>
<p> The details of the course are below, and individuals will be required to pay a £5 refundable deposit that they will get back following attendance at the course. To book an individual coach would need to register/sign up at  </p>

<p>and click on the  “Book an Event” icon.</p>
<p>Cost: £5.00 Refundable deposit (this is due to the fact that the English Federation of Disability Sport has received sponsorship from Typhoo Tea Limited to provide courses for County Sports Partnerships)</p>
<p> Course Information: The Typhoo Sports for All is a 6 hour theory and practical disability inclusion course. It&#8217;s targeted at Coaches already delivering regular coaching sessions to give you the skills and inspiration to include disabled athletes in your coaching sessions.</p>
<p>Places are limited so please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment and take advantage of a great opportunity we have been fortunate to be able to secure for the partnership.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Teams</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Each team has of 8 players.  Squads are limited to 10 players.</li>
<li>In the event of injury to a player, a substitute will be allowed to field, but not bowl.  Should such an injury prevent the player batting, a substitute will be allowed to bat only with the permission of the opposing member of staff. </li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">The Game</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Throughout the competition each game shall consist of one innings per team, each innings to be 8 overs (6 balls)   </li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">Batting &amp; Scoring</span></p>
<ul>
<li>The batting side shall be divided into pairs, each pair batting for 2 overs, with a new pair starting at the end of the second, fourth and sixth overs.</li>
<li>Each team starts batting with a score of 200 runs.</li>
<li>Each time a batter is out, 5 runs are deducted and the other batter of the pair faces the next ball.</li>
<li>A batter may be out bowled, caught, run out, stumped, hit wicket.</li>
<li>There is no LBW law unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball with a leg or foot.</li>
<li>Runs will be scored in the normal way, as will byes.</li>
<li>2 runs will be awarded to the batting team for each wide ball (too wide for the batter to hit) and no-ball (bounces more than once or delivered on the full) bowled, but no extra ball will be allocated, except in the final over of each innings when, in addition to the 2 runs, an extra ball will be bowled. </li>
<li>Any runs above 2 scored on a ‘no ball’ will count in place of the 2 received for the no ball.</li>
<li>At the end of the first 2 overs, the first pair of batters retires and is replaced by the second pair until all 4 pairs have batted for 2 overs each.</li>
<li>The second team then bats for its 8 overs.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">Bowling and Fielding</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Each player on the fielding side must bowl 1 over.</li>
<li>Bowling will take place from one end only.</li>
<li>Bowling should be over arm where possible.</li>
<li>Players on the fielding side DO NOT need to rotate fielding positions.</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>With the exception of the wicketkeeper, no fielder is allowed within 10 yards of the batter until the ball is played by the batter.</li>

<p>10.00am registration for prompt 10.30am start.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Teams</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Each team has of 8 players.  Squads are limited to 10 players.</li>
<li>In the event of injury to a player, a substitute will be allowed to field, but not bowl.  Should such an injury prevent the player batting, a substitute will be allowed to bat only with the permission of the opposing member of staff. </li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">The Game</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Throughout the competition each game shall consist of one innings per team, each innings to be 8 overs (6 balls)   </li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">Batting &amp; Scoring</span></p>
<ul>
<li>The batting side shall be divided into pairs, each pair batting for 2 overs, with a new pair starting at the end of the second, fourth and sixth overs.</li>
<li>Each team starts batting with a score of 200 runs.</li>
<li>Each time a batter is out, 5 runs are deducted and the other batter of the pair faces the next ball.</li>
<li>A batter may be out bowled, caught, run out, stumped, hit wicket.</li>
<li>There is no LBW law unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball with a leg or foot.</li>
<li>Runs will be scored in the normal way, as will byes.</li>
<li>2 runs will be awarded to the batting team for each wide ball (too wide for the batter to hit) and no-ball (bounces more than once or delivered on the full) bowled, but no extra ball will be allocated, except in the final over of each innings when, in addition to the 2 runs, an extra ball will be bowled. </li>
<li>Any runs above 2 scored on a ‘no ball’ will count in place of the 2 received for the no ball.</li>
<li>At the end of the first 2 overs, the first pair of batters retires and is replaced by the second pair until all 4 pairs have batted for 2 overs each.</li>
<li>The second team then bats for its 8 overs.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span><span style="text-decoration: underline">Bowling and Fielding</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Each player on the fielding side must bowl 1 over.</li>
<li>Bowling will take place from one end only.</li>
<li>Bowling should be over arm where possible.</li>
<li>Players on the fielding side DO NOT need to rotate fielding positions.</li>
</ul>
<p> With the exception of the wicketkeeper, no fielder is allowed within 10 yards of the batter until the ball is played by the batter.</p>
